In 1998, Teikyo University organized an international symposium with a collaboration of universities of Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford. The theme of the symposium was “Evaluation in Medicine and Healthcare” and it concluded to emphasize Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) in the whole range of medicine and healthcare. As the outcome of the symposium, with the support from the Ministry of Education, Teikyo University created the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine in the Itabashi campus in 1999. The Introduction of the symposium will help to comprehend the background of the Centre for EBM and understand EBM. |
