Introduce our lab

The Candida auris Reference Center (CARC) is a BSL-2 research and educational facility belongs to Teikyo University, Tokyo, Japan. The center is well equipped with cutting-edge research tools and instruments. CARC deals with a wide range of yeast and filamentous fungi of medical importance. In addition to the research activities, it offers multiple services to all colleagues around the globe. Our main reason for establishing CARC is to raise awareness against C. auris and provide accurate and reliable identification of the pathogen.

CARC is looking toward promoting international cooperation and strengthen data sharing regarding C. auris in an effort to control the fungus and prevent further outbreaks within medical establishments worldwide.

At the top of our research activities at CARC is uncovering the mechanism behind the generation of antifungal resistance in C. auris. Moreover, pathogenicity of the fungus is another major focus at CARC.
