My first experience in the medical field in a developing country, where I witnessed the reality of the loss of life so easily, led me to enter the field of public health. Since then, I have been involved in public health education at NGOs and universities, and am currently working on issues related to healthcare for foreign residents in Japan, as well as providing support for relief workers in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. I would like to learn, think, and work together with students to solve public health issues that protect people’s lives and livelihoods.
I look forward to taking on challenges together with you, keeping in mind the phrase, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
